During the X-241’s manufacturing process it was found that not enough material had been assigned to the robot’s treads. Since each had only a certain amount of material allocated to its formation, it was decided that the extra material would have to be taken from the top of its foot. When asked if this would pose a problem for the robot, the chief materials scientist remarked “I can’t imagine how it would come up, it’s still tougher than most things it’s likely to encounter… the only way I could see it becoming a real problem would be if one decided to step on the other’s foot, but I mean, it’s not like they’re going know about it.”
